Ballroom Blitz
A downloadable game for Windows
(This game is a 2-player local multiplayer. It's better to dance-off with another than by yourself!)
Story
Ballroom Blitz places yourselves inside one of London's Almacks, in the early 19th century. In this alternative universe, music technology has advanced to which our 80's classics, are the top-of-the-pops in the 1800s!
How To Play
Players can pick between playing as Marquis Of Worcester (use the WASD keys) , or Lady Worcester (use the Arrow Keys), in an up-beat, flashy, rhythm game, where you must time the notes with the according directional key, when they reach the top of the spinning record. Score the highest from timing your beats to win! Try for the highscore too!
The game uses classic 80's hits, those of which include:
- "Electric Shoes" by Peter Brown (link)
- "Innocent Love" by Sandra (link)
- "Down To Earth" by Curiosity Killed The Cat (link)
- "Room To Move" by Animotion (link)
More About This Project
This game was created in the third week of the Rapid Games Development Module. The theme given was "Ritual", and what better ritual cycle than the constant spinning and groove-plucking of classic vinyl records! This game, while given a week to make, was whipped up in 2.5 days, after being inspired from playing Yakuza 0's disco minigames.
